About the show

British babies are bigger and fatter than ever before and one in five pregnant women are obese. As a result, hospitals are struggling to cope with super-sized expectant mums giving birth to super-sized babies. Big Babies is a sensitive, thought provoking, observational film that follows the journeys of four obese women as they struggle through the final weeks of pregnancy, giving birth, and then coming to terms with their super-sized babies. Through their eyes we witness the prejudices and challenges they face on a daily basis.
