About the show

Over five nights, two teams of two contestants – the Red team and the Blue team – are each handed a budget and let loose at an antiques fair. They have just one-hour to trawl the stalls for items that they hope to sell later for a higher price. Each team is assigned an antiques expert to advise and tell them about the items which catch their eye. But expert help is not always enough to curb the amateurs’ enthusiasm for an unwise purchase. The team which makes the most profit (or invariably, the least loss) wins. The Bargain Hunt Australia team includes effervescent host Tim Wonnacott and two of his trusty antiques experts, David Barby and Paul Laidlaw. With lots of laughs and valuable lessons along the way, will the Aussie teams find out that it’s not as easy as it looks?

i so looked forward to Bargain Hunt Australia, but found the whole experience thoroughly spoint by two things: the Sydney-centric nature of it (even Melbourne cnotestants came from Sydney and all the auctions were there), and Tim's grating insistance in pronouncing Australia as ORstralia, with the accent invariably in the OR. I can put up with being a sheila (better than a guy), but -- as far as I'm concerned -- 'orsies are what you find in paddocks with sheepies and cowsies. Why on earth didn't anyone tell him?

I wish someone would tell Tim "Australia" is NOT pronounced AWWWstralia!! It is driving me nuts!!!

Hi every-one and A Very Merry Christmas to you all.I really hope what you wish for, you get.I wish for a Garden Makeover,as My Husband has had a Brain Anuerisym , 3 Years now, and his Surgeon said to him, You Should be DEAD. Alas after 5 months after his Major Operation, he had Fluid Build-up on his Brain,They had to put a Shunt into his Brain, only to take it out after 1 Month, as it was full of Golden Staph. This is all because of VIAGRA,The Brain Anuerisym ( He has DIABETIES ), but please don't take this tablet, it's so Dangerous, and i've heard so many stories of People dying from taking it. from a BRAIN ANUERISYM. My Husband was in the Navy, as a Lt Petty Officer Radio Communicator, In the Firebrigade as an Officer in charge of his own Station. and Men.He Always Loved his Garden, and helping people with whatever they wanted done. He could have been a Doctor, but being 17 years ,He joined the Navy.,His Garden was his love,he was in his element ,out doors, but he can't do anything anymore.I'm his Wife of 23 years, and now i'm his 24/7 Carer, but i wouldn't have it any other way.I Love him so much, and this is our home, and this is where he belongs. But it's hurting him so much, and he cries, knowing he can't do anything anymore. We miss all our Grandchildren, which has been hard, as we were the only G/Parents that would have 6 of them at once. We have 11 grandchildren, and now, when they come to visit only, he Cries too.If only we could get a Garden Make-over, ,it would make his time on this earth so much happier. He's Stubborn, and if he doesn't want to come inside,as he takes off, so i'm on my toes 24/7 watching and holding his hand, as his feet are wobbly. He also had a Stroke,Left side of his body is weak,.I've been kicked out of our B/Room Twice, now.but i've sneaked in a recliner, so i can sleep in there with him, but i always end up on the Lounge.I'm not in the best of health, but whilst i'm alive ,We stay together..Les has 2 Children and i have 3 Children.and we have 11 Grandchildren .8 Boys and 3 Girls. Please help us, as it is getting hard to do the Garden and house and everything else that goes with being an elderly Couple. Les is 71years and i'm 64years, but we dont look elderly, Well i hope not anyway. Ha Ha.We just need a Maintence Free Garden Makeover Please.Merry Christmas, Ramona.

I'm a Venezuela born Australian when I started watching the show, six years ago, my English wasn't good enough to be well aware of what was happening, but I enjoyed nevertheless and still do it and haven't missed an episode since then. I wish one day I have the opportunity to participate in UK or Australia. Sad there'll be so few shows here. Can't wait to see Tim and the gang in my beloved Australian's locations. Regards, Nancy Ortega
