About the show

Essex couple David and Ann want to buy a chateau in Slovakia and convert it into a boutique hotel but their dreams soon turn into nightmares. This series follows their progress from dealing with Slovak bureaucracies, to missing money from the sale of their UK home and meeting strange vendor requests. After several false starts, they finally find the right chateau, but nothing is straightforward as the building work commences. Can it really happen or will it be the start of a disaster?
