Hi i was just wondering if you do makeovers in Sydney, Australia Thanks xx
Hi Guys,
I'm contacting you from Adelaide, Australia.
I would love to be the first in Australia to have a 60 minute makeover!!!
My husband and I were married in 1978 - both of us came from families where our fathers had left our mothers, so we were behind the eight ball.
The family situation was not common in those days, so we learnt to live on a shoe string as there wasn't the social security support in those days like there is now.
We lived through tough times as being part of a single parent family in those days was very uncommon, unlike today, so there was quite a stigma that we endured.
I was the grand age of 17yrs old when Dean and I married, and then we were blessed with our first child Olivia when I was 19yrs old.
Then, our gorgeous son Jes'se was born two years later.
Needless to say we have had our trials and tribulations, but above all our little family has always meant the world to us.
It's difficult to sum up in a brief email a life time of events, but we have had experienced every parent’s nightmare.
Unfortunately after several years of me traveling interstate helping him during his treatments and trying to stay positive for a happy outcome, unfortunately our son Jes'se died on the 3/11/2006 after losing his battle with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia at the age of 24yrs old.
At the same time we experienced losing our life savings due to making wrong investment choices at the time and finding ourselves away from our now only child Olivia and our grandchildren, Aiden and Shinayde.(Olivia's children).
Jes'se was a professional dancer with the Australian Ballet Company before his death, so his career was his baby.
We found ourselves penniless - not knowing how we would be able to return to Adelaide from Sydney.
Losing our son has been so very difficult to deal with, but my darling husband Dean, has literally been head down tail up trying to rebuild our lives financially, and at times is very frustrated that we haven't attained the home he had had in mind for us as a family, that he had in mind all those years ago, when we first married.
Since Jes'se's death, prioritories have changed and I'm just happy to have my daughter and grandchildren alive and well, and best of all nearby,,,as we did manage to claw our way back to Adelaide, so I see them nearly on a daily basis.
I too have had serious illnesses, so Dean has experienced a double wammy!!
We live for our grandkids and make the best of what we do have.
Having said this though, I know it plays on my Dean's mind, as we still are unable to fix things that desperately need repairs around the house.
Don't get me wrong we have a lovely home, just very dated and worn out, the carpets are now forming holes and the kitchen needs a redo etc...but is still functional, so I am grateful for what we do have.
It's now 5 and a half years after losing Jess, trying to settle into some form of normality...whatever that is???
But I'm hoping we might be in the running to be considered if there is to be a 60 minute Makeover 'Down Under', to perhaps bring a little spark back to my Dean personality.
I know it would mean the world to him to have the pressure taken off his shoulders and not have to have the worry.
Our life line has been our daughter and grandkids after Jes'se's death and literally not knowing what the future held for us - Aiden and Shinayde have been our Angels!!!
Please do consider us if there might be an Australian debut, words would not convey how happy it would make me feel that I could put a smile back on Dean's face and he might be able to take a breather and enjoy his castle again!!
Thank you for taking the time to read my email.
Cheers for now.
Kindest Regards,
Tina

Today was so bad! she calls herself a designer,Linda Barker. I would go mad if she did my house.I have never liked a thing she has put together, you must stop using her big timeeeeeee. SORRY.
Do you like doing this job?
So the formula seems to be to get 20 unemployed people who have never done a days Reno work in their lives. Them let them loose under the slackest supervision. I hesitate using the word workmanship but whatever it is it's APPALLING. the paper hangers have no idea and the painters have no experience AT ALL. they all dab here and there and their brushes are never properly loaded. I watch this show simply for a laugh, and our family are kept super busy looking at the shocking bodgy work every week. People who wish this team of hapless unskilled unco's would come and do their house must surely be blind. My wife says if she came home to find that lot out the front she'd kick me in the groin and hit me with a shovel.
No painting ceiling or door frames or doors or woodwork work, the paper is hung over other paper, lets be honest this about what you can get free.
I just love your show.Im from Sydney Australia,I wish your show would come down under.Ellie.

who pays for the make overs and i love ur show i think it is 1 of the best on tv
How do i apply on behalf of my friend for a 60 minute makeover. She is keen home lover who's attempts to renovate her house have been distracted buy a series of tragic events in her immediate family
can some tell me where is Clare Sweeney and why see stop 60 min make over am netherlands girl i like see show and other lady not so good den Clare Sweeney i miss she plss tell me where see is
Claire has been working non stop touring the country in the musical "Tell me on a Sunday", and she is now touring the country in "Legally Blonde".
I like watching the show but when they are going from room to room showing the people their house I am always seeing paint work splatted onto the white borders the finish is shocking and you constantly see it even when they are not doing close ups. I am always hoping that they go back afterwards and fix these things up they keep commenting that they don't do shoddy work well its for all to see that they do on camera such a shame
i am from adelaide south austraila and i love watching your show
wish yours would come over here, think you do a amazing job. i would love you do my daughter room as her room and my late daughter room and the rest hasnt been touch since my daughter die. keep up the good job as we love your show.
am so glad so many of you agree how great this show is
Pat Crimston Hi, after raising 4 children with both my husband and I working most time 2 jobs to buy our family home, raise and give my children a good upbring. We though life was going to get easier in our retirement and having time to ourselves. Our youngest son came back to live following the death of his wife (aged 26 yrs) leaving him with twins aged 14mths old and a 3mth baby - all born in the same year ( beautiful little girls). He is a wonderful hands on dad and loves his girls dearly. The grandchildren are now 5 & 6 yrs old but the house is getting more in disrepair with limited space especially storage, finances are very limited and we need help. Could your program help us, possibly with the conversion of the single garage into another bedroom for the grand daughters. It would allow them a good size bedroom with a space to play and have room for their toys and an area for doing their school work. Thank you for your consideration and time.
Any chance you could help me with my home? It went under in the floods along with many others but I figured I may as well ask for help then wait in hope that it will do itself.
Just love the show, It would be great if Australia had a show like this. Instead they only do homes that really don't need anything done to them. There are a lot of people that really need assistance with their homes. They are just as house proud as people who own their homes, but not financially able to improve them. How about a show that decorates in 60 min but doesn't structurally change anything. Just a thought. Here in Australia would be fabulous
when is the 60m makeover coming to australia
I must say I preferred Claire to Terry hosting the show for sure. If you ever do a show in Australia I would love to be the first. My husband never thinks of change until we have sold our homes make them look nice and leave.
Joy D
Just when I got used to Terry, they stopped having a host and used the designer, doh!!!
Hi I have a very dear friend that lost her husband 18 months ago through suicide. She lives in western New South Wales in a small town where she grew up and has three wonderful children. My friend is the most kindhearted, generous person I have ever met and is working three jobs to keep her head above water and get the bills paid. Her home is in desperate need of a makeover and in particular the kitchen and bathroom. The whole home needs a good paint. Unfortunately she does not have the capacity to be able to pay for it. Please help her, Pam
Hi my name is Jackie and I live in Brisbane Australia. I watch 60 minute makeover Uk and it is my favourite show. I saw a makeover by John Amarbalade(sorry for the spelling) and he had a Mirror that had been etched with the London Tube Map. I would love to find out where I could buy one of these and have it shipped to Australia. My daughter lived in London for 4 years and I am sure she would love it.
Thank You
Jackie

I agree Pam, I would love to see a show like this in Australia. I used to love watching changing rooms. Time for something like it to come back.
Omg ... How very sad' I've just watched an episode of 60minute makeover for Debbie and her son Joshua! Most everything was great but seeing the wallpaper with bubbles left in it was just too much! I know you gave only limited time but it would be nice to see you get the basics right and not leave this type of mistakes for the people to worry about later!
Where is Claire Sweeney , miss her on the show and is my favorite
Yes I agree, she helped make the show.
I also would like to know where Claire Sweeney is because the other woman (although nice enough) is soo bloody annoying, her voice rattles me to the core.
I agree with you Darryl. We love Claire and miss her face on the show. We now refuse to watch the show as this other woman is no comparison and doesnt put the same life into the show.
