Pretty in Pastels: Zimmermann on the MBFW runway
Gentle hues in pastel pinks, aquas and greens had a calming effect on Sydney's fashionistas, perched along the runway sipping fresh orange juice and nibbling pastries.
The collection, shown in a Rosebery furniture store and cafe, attracted a large crowd with its very wearable designs.
Dominating the range was a whimsical floral print, applied to flowing dresses, jumpsuits, playsuits, vests, pedal pushers, skirts and robes.
Swimwear carried the same print and was equally as divine as the day wear. It included underwire one-pieces, bikinis with high-waisted briefs, tank tops with belts, and halters.
The Cruise 2012/13 range went far to showcase Zimmermann's craftsmanship with perforated detailing on dresses, skirts, robes and swimwear.
Other fabrics utilised included lace, for pale green dresses; fishnet, also for dresses; and cashmere, for a range of loose pale blue hoodies.
Pencil-thin models took to the catwalk in an assortment of ivory and pink `splatter' pieces as well, while a `corrugated' silver dress and a silver sloppy joe and dress in a link pattern added night-time sparkle.
Stovepipe pants also made an appearance, along with subtle quilting, frills, twists and panelling.
