Summer Festival Fever

Music festivals are the thing to see and be seen at with stars from Kate Moss and Alexa Chung to Dita von Teese all getting in on the action.

And what better way to spend the sunny days than outdoors listening to your favourite bands? But with such celeb-pulling power, festivals are fast becoming as much about the fashion as they are the music. So, whether you love getting right in amongst it or listening sublimely from the sideline, get your style organised before you step out. Read on to find out what you’ll need for a festival look to rival the famous:

Festival philosophy:
Not everyone loves the myriad of the people, the chaotic queues and the down-right dirtiness a festival can bring, and
you’re definitely one of them. You enjoy the carnival atmosphere but your ideal experience involves minimum crowd mingling and lots of time
sipping champagne in the VIP tent.

Essential style kit:
A sweet summer dress, matching platform wedges, super-stylish sunglasses, your VIP access pass and a pack of
sanitising wipes.

Celeb fashion influence: Dita von Teese, Heidi Montag, Nicky Hilton.

Festival philosophy:
It’s a great day out when you can listen to your favourite bands play live as you laze on the grass, leisurely drinking beer in the company of your boyfriend. As far as you’re concerned, you could stay there forever – just as long as your shoes and clothing are comfortable.

Essential style kit:
A cute-yet-comfy playsuit or shorts-and-singlet combo, a pair of thongs or flats, a Cuban hat and of, course, your latest love interest.

Celeb fashion influence: Kate Bosworth, Anne Hathaway, Kirsten Dunst.

Festival philosophy:
Festivals are your thing. In fact, you’re such a permanent feature at them they wouldn’t be considered authentic without the presence of you and your group of super-hip friends. You love the music, the mayhem and the mischief that begins when the sun goes down.

Essential style kit:
An eclectic mix of the latest fashion trends worn in a way no-one else would dare to pull off, an old pair of converse, a camera, and an uber-cool-if-not-slightly-effeminate rock star/designer/hairdresser male friend hanging off your arm.

Celeb fashion influence: Agyness Deyn, Pixie Geldof, Daisy Lowe.
