Shapewear: Why Every Woman Needs It

Our fashion expert Donny Galella tells how Shapewear can transform your figure in seconds.

Shoes, handbags and jewellery are an important aspect of an outfit. But it’s what lies beneath the clothes, which can truly make or break an outfit.

The art of dressing has one thing in common with the skill of building a house. Both need to be built on terra firma.

Good quality, undergarments are essential to ensure a solid foundation, for your outfit. One of the fastest growing trends in undergarments is shape wear, often referred to as ‘miracle underwear’.

These miraculous stretchy undergarments can help lift, flatten, smooth, firm and prevent the dreaded ‘VPL’ (visible panty line). With shape wear options growing by the minute, here are some options to consider.

Holdmetight

Ricki Lee Coulter understands the benefits of slipping into shape-wear, the curvaceous entertainer is a big fan of the Holdmetight ‘Second skin’ range. This seam-free range comes in practical hues of black or mocha and in sizes 10-20. To get rid of that dreaded ‘VPL’ slip into the ‘Second Skin Strapless Dress’ (RRP $39.95) by providing a smooth line under dresses, and targeting the tummy, hips and thighs. Also available is the ‘Seamless Bodysuit’ and ‘Tank Top’ each focusing on different parts of your body. They’ve even developed a clever swimwear option, which aims to cleverly sculpt the waistline, flatten the tummy and give you a firm bottom. “The swimwear is constructed so well, it holds in al your lumps and bumps,” says Ricki. “It’s a great confidence boost when you’re at the beach because that’s where you usually feel the most exposed.” Holdmetight products are available now at BIG W stores nationwide visit www.holdmetight.com.au for more details.
