Detox Plan Week 2

This week is all about self-care and pampering, says naturopath Emma Sutherland, www.healthequalsvitality.com.au.

It’s time to inspire your motivation and commitment towards achieving the three goals that you wrote before your detox started. Write down five rewards that you will give yourself at the end of your detox. Is it a new dress, a luxurious facial, a magazine subscription or a pretty pair of earrings?

These rewards must be tangible and benefit you in a positive way. Put your rewards on the fridge door, your bathroom mirror and anywhere else that you see every day.

When we take time to pamper ourselves we are investing in our wellbeing. After a long soak in a bubble bath I can promise you I am a much happier woman!

Every day this week you will take the time to indulge in a little pampering. My favourite is to start with some dry body brushing to stimulate the lymphatic system followed by a long soak in a detox bath. Take 500 grams of Epsom salts, 4 drops of your favourite essential oil, some candles, a magazine and voila! You have an extremely powerful and therapeutic detox right in your own home.

Other ways to pamper include giving yourself a manicure, pedicure or facial, having a cup of tea in bed, reading a book, playing your favourite music, an afternoon cat nap, a massage, cooking a lovely dinner, using candles every night, going to the movies, a yoga class, walking with a friend or a picnic by the sea. So plan out your week of pampering as even in 10 minutes there is something beautiful you can do for yourself!
