Screening

Hi Charlie, I just want to tell you I love watching the show, u guys are amazing. Please can you give me some advice. We live next to a petrol garage. Until 2 years ago, there were very high bamboo plants all along the fence between us and the garage but on the garage side of the fence. For some reason, the garage owners decided to remove everything. We are now completely exposed to the garage in sight, noise and also dirt. I am sure this has also substantially reduced the value of our property. I would now like to plant something on our side of the fence that will in a short while have the same screening and filtering effect as the bamboo plants did. Only problem is we have very little space between the fence and our swimming pool. There is approximately 1 meter space available. We are also on a 3 level property so the plants have to be able to grow very high. Can you suggest a plant/tree that I can consider that will have the desired effect as well as not being detrimental to the swimming pool in terms of roots. Thank you , Bernice
Answer
Why not go for a clumping bamboo like a giant timber bamboo? It has worked in the past and will do the job again and very quickly!
