G'day Charlie,
My wife (Shelli) and I love watching the show and love what you do outside.
At our place we have a pool area which is all concrete around the pool. I was thinking of putting in some planter boxes and building a timber frame with some 100 x 100mm mesh on it and maybe planting a grape vine and train it to grow up the frame and cover it. My question is are grape vines evergreen? if not what would be a good evergreen creeper to cover a treliss frame.

No they are not. Try star jasmine, pandorea or Thungbergia
