Need to sell disaster home
Answered Tuesday 28 April 2009 |Share:

I currently own a near 50 yr old project home which is falling to pieces. Every conceivable building crime is seen here, including a terminally leaking asbestos roof, evidence of white ants, dodgy wiring, cheap additions and a very tawdry garden form part of the features of this property. My parents, whom are in their 70’s have lived here since it was built and have raised 6 children in this home, they still live here. My mission now is to extricate them from this property (which they are more than willing to do) into a more manageable low maintenance home, in the same area without having to take on much more debt if any to achieve this goal. The block is 730m2 and is sub dividable. I am not seeking any profit from this venture, only to relocate my parents. The property is in a fast moving first home owners suburb within 10k’s of the CBD (Perth) on a medium density traffic road. Essentially selling competition is with near new homes on tiny blocks for the same price but our house is a disaster. Any suggestions would be helpful.

Ok You say sub dividable - is that a fact, have you plans for it to be done and what could be built? If you could get an architect in who could take an overview for you and look at options. Hopefully that will help.
