Foundation Application
Answered Monday 20 December 2010 |Share:

I have this question with how to apply foundation. Yes, I know how to apply foundation regularly but when I do, after a few minutes it goes really oily. My skin is prepped with moisturizer and primer plus concealer. Also, my face still looks the same afterwords and there's no difference. It also looks cakey and weird looking. I don't know how to explain it but I can't get that flawless finish that I've always wanted. Can you please suggest ways to have that flawless look. My eyelids seem to droop which doesn't help with the flawless, awake look.
Answer
Hi Sonia,
It sounds like you are doing all the right things in preparing your skin prior to application of your foundation, so I think you need to have a look at the foundation you are using; by the sounds of it it’s not the right one for you. What you may need is a powder based foundation. My advice would be to go to a makeup artist and get them to determine which foundation would be the best for you. One brand that I know is great for the skin is Young Blood; it is a mineral based makeup and you can choose if you want liquid or powder.
In reference to your eyelids, unfortunately there isn’t a lot we can do about those, my best advice there would be to invest in an eye cream that has firming ingredients such as Vitamin C or Red seaweed. This will help with firming the collagen and elastin around the eye area and may help to lift the eyelid.
