Answer

Hi Amber, Unfortunately stress plays a major role in the flare up of Dermatitis. So I can imagine that having a 4 month old is probably causing your stress levels to increase a little. So if you can think of ways to reduce your stress levels that would be fantastic. Anything from Yoga to massage to meditation. Other factors that can cause a flare up of dermatitis are: Preservatives such as; Formaldehyde, Quaternium-15, DMDM hydantoin, Surfactants, Hydroquinone, Artificial fragrances, Artificial colours, PPD in hair dyes, Lanolin and Nickel. Some ingredients that may help with your dermatitis or at least alleviate it include: Oat - avenanthramide is the active fraction: natural anti-histaminic and anti-irritant; helps reduce redness and itch. Ginger: Reduces inflammation-induced redness and irritation; Allantoin: soothing, anti-irritant and skin protectant. Lavender: soothing, antiseptic and anti-inflammatory. Sea Buckthorn: (Hippophae Rhamnoides) Oil: helps with tissue regeneration and to treat inflammation. Rich in rare Omega-7 fatty acids (also known as Palmitoleic acid, which is a major skin component often depleted in sensitised skin. Camellia sinensis: green tea and white tea: contains polyphenols that are excellent anti inflammatories and antioxidants. Regards Emma Emma Hobson Skin Expert
