We are just putting the finishing touches on our nearly completed house in Perth WA, our entire garden on 350 sqm is sand, and before the free landscaping comes in I want to prepare the sand and make it soil. where do I start as I don't want everything to be dead in 6 months. I would like to start with good nutritious earth, so I can slowly start our oasis?

Talk to your local landscape suppliers they will have a compost to improve the soil .... mix in as much as you can! I would also use a sugar can mulch on top of the plants as it breaks down quickly and adds organic matter to the soil/sand
