Wollongong industrial designer Martin Wilcock uses his own imagination and some patience rummaging through the local scrap-yard to create some stunning pieces of furniture. Martin says he usually has a good idea what he wants before he goes searching through all the junk - whether it's door handles or shelving. He says what he finds are highly engineered pieces, so he is trying to capture that design and utilise it in a different way.
The result of his latest scrummage is two beautiful bedside tables, made from recycled sheet metal for shelves. The result is totally unique and a beautiful addition to any home.
