Speed Cleaning Olympics.
To motivate kids on the housework front, you need to add an element of fun. Kids love competing with each other, so by put them in teams, time their cleaning efforts and record the times on a blackboard. A reward for the season winner, will maintain enthusiasm.
• First, de-clutter rooms, with everything that doesn't belong placed in clutter buckets and taken outside.
• All surfaces, including marked walls, are then wiped down with pantyhose and a spray of one of Shannon’s favourite light cleaning solutions. It’s a solution made up using 1 teaspoon of lavender oil in 1 litre of water. This lavender cleaner is also a good solution for repelling insects and freshening stale air.

I thik it is a goos idea. My daughter is 3 and she makes her own bed and puts everything away. Makes it easy for me as i can skip a room cleaning and have my coffee earlier.
